Join Us February 28 at Mother Foucault’s for a “sundaey” Book Launch

THIS WEEK, Propeller Books is proud to release its first poetry title, sundaey by Kirsten Ihns. Ihns’s collection is the first title in our new Propeller Contemporary Poetry Series, and was chosen by Series Editors Lucas Bernhardt and Jan Verberkmoes. If you are a citizen of Portland, Oregon, or are nearby, we would be pleased if you would join us Friday evening at Mother Foucault’s Bookshop to celebrate the launch of the book.

WHO: Kirsten Ihns, her new book, and special guest reader John Beer
WHAT: Book launch for sundaey, Ihns’s debut poetry collection
WHEN: 7pm Friday, February 28th
WHERE: Mother Foucault’s Bookshop, 523 SE Morrison St, Portland

Wondering what the book is like? Here’s a description from our official marketing materials:

Kirsten Ihns’s debut poetry collection, sundaey, is at home in the attic of the English language, sifting through boxes labeled art, architecture, pythons, tetanus. From these materials, Ihns summons voices, creatures who, in calling to each other, call each other into being. Expansive and glitchy, playful and incisive, sundaey is a place of riddles and revealing associations. If the action remains downstairs, it is to give these poems the freedom to push sense into nonsense, and to enjoy the electrifying snap as it springs back into moments of arresting insight and vulnerability.

This is going to be good, folks. If you’re reading this, you’re invited.
